Feel free to call this top quality QQ or think for half a second and discuss.
Tournament rules state that Criticals are disabled, and by extension of this ruling, then it must dictate that the Backburner must for disabled for the tournament. The server critical modifier command does not disable Backburner's critical bonus and is an otherwise unfair advantage to every other class, including counter-classes. Further more, the additional health granted in the absence of criticals makes the the pyro the only class worth having in any offence. I'm moving to have tournament rules modified to disable unlockables so that this tournament is decided by the best team, and not the best pyro. ooookay
erm ill get someone right on that. but to put this in motion halfway through the league system, would kinda make it unfair on the teams who were planning to use it, On consideration i WILL turn off pyro unlocks in the k,o round, but until then, it will be up to both the captains of the temas to set any custom rules. sidenote: chillax, its not a cereal competition or owt |

I'd rather just have the pyro unlockables disqualified.

As for it being cereal or not, that's a cop out excuse, because even neighbourhood street hockey here wants to keep everything on the level. I say leave it on. If you think it's overpowered, find someone on your team who's good with a backburner.

I honestly don't care either way as, although it is annoying, backburners aren't automatic wins. I agree with Dave that the two teams going against each other should be able to come to a decision on what weapons/maps are or aren't allowed before their actual match starts. But we can definitely disable all unlockable weapons during the KO rounds, when they're going to really count.
My 2 cents, for what it's worth. On BAL-SACKs: (07-10-2008, 06:52 PM)rumsfald link Wrote:Like our namesake, the number one thing we do is hang around. Between your legs. Hang around waiting for some action. |

By that logic mate, you're skewing the tournament results before you even get to the KO rounds. Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. It's not the crits so much as the damn health bewst tthat bursts my bubble. Lol. I say whatever, it doesn't matter to me. Moar about teamwork rather than the best pyro in my opinion.. I hope. . But again, I could care less.

Aye, I can see backburner off in KO rounds, but the other team has equal opportunity to use it. When we were playing today, Vandam used it and Eschatos used it, so it seemed fair enough to me.

Anyone want to get on a plugin that disables the health provided but allows the backstab mechanic :|
I hate the backburner so fucking much, was supposed to reward the pyro for ambushing, not give them the ability to run into a crowd and hold down mouse1. At least before you would get juggled and promptly killed if you tried to run straight at a soldier. Â Sig by Joel

[/quote] The tournament is probably still going to be going on by the time the rumored Heavy update hits (unconfirmed) August 7th unless we cram-school it. What happens if Heavy hits and the tourney's still going on? We can't selectively turn off one class's unlockables and leave another's on, can we? What if the Heavy introduces something as controversial as the Backburner? |

While I agree 100% with Kor's original post, I feel that the rules set in place at the start of the tournament should hold throughout the rest of the tournament, even through the KO rounds.
At least make the rules consistent, not change them halfway through. Bulletproof. |

I agree for it to be disabled.
The backburner requires no skill, gives pyro's more than enough health, and unfair critical advantage during a tournament of skill. |
