Probably me being stupid but did you not have a similar spawn set-up way back when and run into some problems with demos camping?

Originally the spawns were directly attached and there was one exit, when you got onto the point it was instant demo camping.

Well, I personally RTV through the version of the map that is on the server right now. I am up for new maps, hell yeah new maps, but the current one there is pretty awful personally. The middle point was REALLY clogged up with all kinds of objects blocking the way. And after any team grabs it, they are already capping my back point? Steam rolls happen too often. And because, of course, there are few players, the map ends really fast. I just wish it would slow down a bit. Hope this version does that!

Try removing all cans and bottles from the map.

It is a space ship, why would there be any buckets laying around.

Home points have been redesigned, I may be contacting one or two of you to do some sight-line testing with sentry guns.

I also have a friend who does graphic design work making signs for me which he is starting on today.

We gonna run the new version on TFT.  I think I have some thoughts on how to make it more "starship" like but still keep the TF2 feeling.  Would require some custom textures and brushes/models.

Custom models, probably not going to happen, too much work for too small an audience. I don't care if the ambiance of the map is 100% ZOMG we're in space!!111 Just so long as its somewhat passable

Pretty much, segment it out more, allows for some actual choke-points and breaks up the feel of it being one 'big room' with a point in the center.

Looks quite good.  Still doesn't feel very starshipish.  I know you said you won't be implementing custom models, but what about a minor edit.  On some of those control panels, it might be kinda net to use the TF2 television model with a starfield on the screen.  If you ever saw some of those 1950s "world of tomorrow" type images, the screens looked a lot like ancient analgue tv sets with some chrome and fancy knobs.  Other than that, around the outsides of the map, maybe have some windows showing the starry skybox.  Only other thing I could think of would be to add an airlock to the compactor so that you could empty it into space as well as crush stuff.  Dunno how that'd jive with the water though.
