Issue with the server.
I tried playing tonight a little after Friday night fight and came into an issue I hate. Uber Crash. I didn't have this on the servers when I first started playing back in May. It just now came up. What happens is I"ll play Medic, or actually any other class. And when the Uber Charge is active on my character it will get used up to 44% and then crash out. I have come to the conclusion that this is a server side problem and not an issue with my computer. I have verified the game files, and defragged multiple times and the problem still persists. This is also not the only server it happens on it happens on other servers and only during an Uber Charge, Quick-Fix and Kritz ubers are just fine. Again this has happened to me until recently so it might be something in the update files. Maybe the servers need to updated or something, I do not know. But could someone maybe look into this? Thanks. |

Since it happens to you on other servers, and since I have never heard of this happening to anyone else on our server, it sounds a lot like a client-side problem. Just because you've verified and defragged your files doesn't mean it's not client-side. Try completely deleting and reinstalling TF2.

All right, I suppose I'll give it a shot. I shall return later on in the weekend for another update!

Sadly a reinstall didn't work. Someone told me that adjusting the frame rate would help... how ever I don't know how to do that. Anyone know how?

So, you're the only person in the world who crashes on ubers, and it must be a server problem?
What diagnostic steps did you take to determine that. You kept crashing so it's a server problem? You would not be able to connect to the servers if this were the case, you client would say no and not connect. And the servers automatically update each patch. |

Had some VAC issues during the pseudo-TFT that kicked everyone out of the server. Not sure if it was Steam-wide or not.

sv_pure is defined in a file and can only be read when the server starts, you have to modify it there. Its either in server.cfg or I think two folders up in a tree where the white list is iirc

One of the sv_pure settings is a blacklist (doesn't allow certain files to be modified) One is the whitelist (only allows certain files to be modified) One is Only allow default files (I believe this one is sv_pure 2). This has been in the engine since a patch to counter-strike: source (not long before TF2 released), it also can exist in almost all mods. |
