Am I the only one that bought VTM: Bloodlines for $10 on Steam?

I got it around last halloween when it was on sale, and I have to say it is super awesome.  I played another VTM game a while back and thought the story and mechanics were awesome, but the glitches and stupid AI completely ruined it and I quit.  (You know the one where you had a party and your idiot party members kept doing the stupidest things, so the game basically consisted of you switching back and forth so the AI controlled party members wouldn't kill themselves)

Anyways I haven't played it much lately, what with TF2 and all.  But I still think it holds up under a modern playthrough.  I was generally terrified playing some of the parts (especially that crazy ass hotel), unlike FEAR, which I played around the same time and immediately returned for being terrible.

I heard it was quite Deus-Exey.  I might pick it up.

Very pretty game with great atmosphere but I found the story dragged and I couldn't stand the combat system.

Jeanette was hawt, though.

Never played it, though I remember hearing some good things about it.  Might one to consider looking at!

If you pick it up check out some of the mods.  There are quite a few fan made ones that fix the glitches and update a lot of the textures, making for a better experience.

You know it's a good game when fans start putting out the patches after the company goes under.

I started playing it yesterday, and it's a lot better than I thought it would be.  Love being a malkavian.

Any game where a severed arm is just as good of a weapon as a knife cannot be bad.

Also, I have a new favorite video game location:  A church in LA that was converted into a metal-oriented bar/dance club.  So sacriligious it's amazing.

Have you gotten to the conclusion of the sisters thing yet?  My jaw was literally on the floor during that scene.

I actually checked out the Bloodlines game after you and Aerox's point-counterpoint on overlooked RPGs.  It's very Deus-Ex like (also about $10 on Steam, check it out if you haven't) and i really enjoy the plot.  Not to mention that the variations between the clans makes it look like a game i would actually enjoy replaying.  Also, that hotel was scary as hell. F'real.

Lol I just made a failed company a lot of money. Who knows maybe next I'll save everyone on their car insurance.

It's definately worth a look though.  It's insanely well written for a game, and the first one in that series I played that didn't have such awful game mechanics as to screw that up.

Some guy was posting fanmade patches for it on its Steam board.

Yea I posted the one I found to be the best earlier, there are a lot of fan made patches but you have to choose wisely because when you mod your files it screws up your game saves, and in many cases you will have to reinstall if you want to switch.

The one I linked to though is some psychotic guy that is so in love with the game he gets angered at people that try to change it.  All his patches are aimed at updating the textures and fixing glitches.

I played it for a while a few months after it came out and bought it just like Surf at $10 bucks at the end of last year.

I haven't played that much, but one of my friends visits me almost every weekend to play it.

I also can tell you that last weekend I got a msg from Caff and it made the game crash  Sad
