though it'd be fun to play some DMC or even....damn...can't rmember the name all the sudden.  Jumping aorund on platforms and trying to knock eachother off.  A mod that comes with HL these days.

I tried sniping in TFC and it took me a few minutes to figure the in's and out's..it's a lot different than TF2...

Wasn't too bad, I must have missed a few of the other maps, like Well/2fart/Rock :/

Eh, it was pretty fun... but what it mostly did was remind me about why I love TF2 over games like this and CS: they took out all of the things that make the other games inaccessible (like grenades) to new players or the casual person who can't put in too many hours, yet still made it into something I can see playing over and over again. I can see that if I put in the time to get really good at conc jumping and grenades I could enjoy it more, but I just don't have that time.

Plus... to have someone push to play this game only to go and spend a whole match getting more points than every other player on both teams COMBINED, then to spend the next round spamming demo so much the other team can't even get out of the spawn for most of the round seemed... well... a very good way to discourage new players. I'm sure if I was good enough and familiar enough with things I could've countered all that, but despite the obvious similarities it was just too different from what I'm used to and comfortable with. :p

On the plus side I think I got some good rocket jumping practice in! ^_^

Edit: not having a go at you with my second paragraph (well, not a serious kind of go), but I would've been much more impressed with some of that awesome conc jumping I keep hearing is possible in TFC then heavy/demo skills (which I can see in any game). Even with my sad attempts at it (why you can't drop a conc at your feet is beyond me) I could totally see the potential there.

I was so happy to play the hunter map.  I played that all the time.  I was sad I couldnt play canal zone.  Also I couldn't remember jack.  I was trying to figure out my classes and how to play people.  I ended up tending to pyro and soldier and just spamming rockets.
