Name's Steve, picked up TF2 in The Orange Box about a month and a half ago (best impulse purchase ever).  Never played Fortress nor TFC, played CS briefly (like at one or two LAN parties).  I actually picked up the box because I wanted to play Portal so badly, and after I conquered that in about three hours, figured I might as well try out TF2 since it go such good reviews.  Have been hooked ever since

Yea, I honestly was expecting the value in that Orange Box to be HL2:E2 >> Portal >> TF2.

Meh, was just playing random pubs one day and came across the server.  Despite all talk, I stuck around because I was having a riot with joel and neonie.  I like casual communities that can pick up and play serious when they want to.  This place reminds me of playing on fr31ns back in the day (was a Natural Selection server/community).

It's a shame so many people poo poo on all talk. Of course it should be off for serious competition, but pub servers are usually about screwing around and somewhat trying to win. Being able to talk to the people you just killed/killed you in a casual manner is always a riot. Besides, most of the time the other team either won't know what you're talking about or won't be able to react in time.

*Gasp* In case you didn't know we have mod nights on Mondays and Thursdays.  Thursdays are for HL2 mods just so we can include everyone.  Mondays are for all the cool HL1 mods that people may need to buy HL1 for, or other mods that may require buying something.  NS was played (I missed it) but we will definately be playing it again.  Maybe you can join us and teach everyone how its played.  Also we have our own mod server thanks to the folks at UMLan.com.

Yeah I agree about all talk.  It's fun, but notably only if you got the right ppl.  I used to avoid them like the plague because it was usually full of morons on poorly admined servers.  I enjoy watching our admins gag ppl   Hmmmmm, that sounds vaguely dirty.
