Those of you that have been around for a bit know that I've been having my fair share of computer issues lately, quite literally with everything I've been using.  Some of these have been my fault, but all have resulted from bad hardware, bad software etc.

So after working just about everything out guess what happens to me?  My files that I was working on disappeared.  My important ones, the ones that were due today, the ones I just had to enter a bit of information and print.  I was trying to fix a bug earlier today and the programmer of our software took control of my computer, and I think deleted everything made with his software.  All my files are backed up except the one I'm working on is at home which is in hour away.

I am seriously about to scream.  Anyways thanks to everyone that has helped me lately.  I'm sure everyone can find this amusing when it is finally over, hopefully later this week when I get my laptop back.

The bastard responsible is supposed to call me back.

Yea there is no solution, but I got the due date pushed back till tommorow, so I'm good I will just use the backup.  The only thing that I could think of would be a virus but lord knows how I'd have gotten it, this computer doesn't have virus protection but it's a clean install from like 3 days ago and my laptop where all the files are from has a decent virus scanner.  Plus where would I have gotten it from?

I'm smart enough to know which parts are my fault and which parts aren't, this one is definitely not my fault.

I hate you for making me see that.

It's funny what you can get away with working on other peoples computers.  I worked as support staff for the physical facilities department at my university, second day on the job I deleted Ten Years of email rebuilding The University Architect's machine.  I asked the boss if it was ok to reformat...

Laptop back data intact, we can all commence laughing at my previous misfortune (assuming it stays working).

Question is should I put it into standby mode a couple times to test it or not risk it (low power mode recovery is what would make my computer screwed up both times  :o)

Negative it is too useful (when working) the thing I learned from this is to never ever ever put it in standby mode when in Vista.
