Run Linux and say that again... hell, ATI could make a card that could give me blowjobs while playing tf2 but knowing them they'd have a bug that will make the card bite it off every 2 updates... I'm not a fanboy of hardware, but I want that hardware to work... Nvidia has a better track record in my experience on that front. Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

3DFX, BITCHES! *ahem* But otherwise, Nvidia. It's really all about drivers for me. Even if I have to get mine via a modified inf file since I'm on a laptop. But yeah, back in the day, I got Jedi Knight II running maxed out at about 50-60 fps on a 64 meg Voodoo 5 5500 PCI.
<+Karrde> welp, time to learn some basic patterning skills <@Negate> 12121212121212121212 <@Negate> there is a simple pattern <+Karrde> I changed my mind. Gonna cosplay as a gay demon from hell and get negate raped instead XD <+Caffeine`work> Karrde: Gay demon? Why would you need to cosplay just go as yourself <+FlyingMongoose> Caffeine`work: Karrde would actually have to tone it down some. |

For desktops I've always used NVidia. No reason really. They've always worked well for me, except my little pre driver update HL2 problem, and I'm familiar with their naming/numbering system. I have an ATI on my lappy and it works fine I guess since mostly I just play emulated or DOS games on it. The quality of the cut scenes in Jade Empire on the ATI sucked, but I don't know if that was a hardware problem or a crappy port problem. Maybe one day I may actually do some benchmarking with it.

I usually buy what seems reasonable in price and lately that has been ATI cards. I know NVidia is better but really I have had no problems with my graphics cards in the past or present. Currently have a Radeon HD 2900xt and its been holding up pretty nice. Next comp I get I am going to go NVidia since I have some cash flow coming in.
