COD4 Servers and the Bitch they Are

So I was playing some COD4 online tonight and I thought I'd have a great time and get some game time in with the new maps. I went into a Hardcore SnD server and play some..got on top of the board and suddenly I was kicked without warning. Now..I sat at the screen yelling for a minute until I went back in and kindly asked the admin why I was kicked...about 10 times (literally). I finally got an answer, "You were kicked for early nade". At this point I get pissed and asked what the rule was. "You may not use explosives or airstrikes for 20 seconds within the start of a match". I'm not stupid..and I'm very sure I threw my nade around the 13-15 seconds of the match start to detract enemies from coming in a certain area..I covered my ass and then followed the nade (which killed two enemies). So I said.."fuck this server"..and left. It's this kind of thing that has kept me from playing COD4 regularly.

Lesson=don't play COD4..most or ALL of their servers have ridiculous rules..including the cursing rules. Stick with TF2.

I get turned off by "hyper realistic" shooters, they take themselves too seriously and only look more fake to me...

I can see why they'd want to have the rule, as there are some maps where you can lob grenades from one team's spawn to the other. I've had plenty of matches on the 360 version where a whole team (usually mine) was wiped out within a second of the round starting.

Of course this is more a reason to avoid the shitty, broken maps than have piss-off rules to excuse it. The airstrike part is just stupid though... if you can manage to get an airstrike built up, fucking use it.

Sorry, but I completely side with them. I echo Scotty's miserable experience on the 360, it's just not any fun when you die less than 5 seconds out of spawn. If the devs weren't the same grenade-spamming assholes, they might've made a rule that servers can turn on disallowing nades for the first n seconds, but they do that same kind of shit.

Grenades kills when people are just coming out of spawn aren't skill, they're just twattery.

Mmm....same shit used to be cap2 on old dustbowl, god I loved holding in the spam pit, it was glorious if you were on D to see a demoman rack up 200+ kills over 20 minutes of solid spam

mm hmm. It's not a problem on other game modes, but seriously, a well-placed airstrike on S&D, depending on the map (say, Wet Work), can kill 3/4 of the other team.

CoD4 should definitely have some decent plugins for that kind of shit.

It's not grenade spam if it's one grenade and it is in the next room.

I side with the fact about throwing a nade RIGHT out of spawn into the enemy spawn, but I was in Broadcast. I ran up a 2 flights of stairs to throw a grenade 15 feet. It's not like I was in Crash or Bog and cornholed it to the enemy spawn.

What pisses me off is I was on top of the fucking board and it happened.

I guess I get your point seabreeze, but from my point of view (that shit happens so much on xbox it's ridiculous) I'm so tired of the spam I call anyone who throws nades at the beginning of the round a faggot. So yea, apologies, but realize that some people are so tired of it they'll take the same stance I do. Might not be fair or right, but it's what's going on.

I refuse to play COD4 seriously until they fix spawns.  Seriously, one person could just mow down an entire team with a P90 that spawned in front of him.
