I think of that man as a man that does what needs to be done; He takes away what you want, but not need. He strips away the unnecessary trappings of your materialistic lifestyle, freeing you of everything that might one day take away from knowing true serenity. This man cares about your soul, and not in the religious sense, he possesses a genuine interest in seeing you one day realize, with a gentle sigh, that you are at peace with yourself. He is no hero, or saviour, he is just a man carrying the burden of one of the hardest tasks a man can take.
