I come to you guys with all of your expertise on helping me find a game. A game that is easy, yet fun. One that will get someone hooked on FPS PC games and help them develop the skills needed for games with more complexity. Of course this would prolly be one with a low learning curve. Not too much blood and guts, that needs to be eased in to.
also, why do i always start big posts before work, i got to go.

I wouldn't bother with FPS from the start, RPGs and especially The Sims are the perfect way in. Also the DS...

This thread intrigues me, my wife has fallen off the video game wagon.  I couldn't even convince her to play the ship last night.  This is someone who used to play lots of RTS's and platformers and RE games.

I just started playing Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney last night. It'd be a good starter game, although it requires a bit of critical thinking skills.

If by all those games you mentioned, you mean rock band/guitar hero, then yes, you are all correct.  Also any wagglefest that isn't super deep Wink

Er, 2K4 was dumb, I got the impression somehow that you were trying to ease into FPS games. Tongue

My wife is somewhat into:

Wii Sports
Puzzle Quest
Sing Star
Rock Band
Super Paper Mario
Raving Rabbids

But if you're trying to ease someone into an FPS.. the best game I can think of is Portal! Just give them time and lots of encouragement.

MONKEY ISLAND!!!

But really, if FPSs are your final goal, you will need to find a self-paced game with a FPS interface.
Something without the speed or co-ordination requirements but will allow the user to get used to moving around freely.

I have no real suggestions otherwise.

You guys sounds like you're figuring out how to potty train a puppy.

Anyway all I can suggest is what I started with and see where it goes. First thing I ever cared dearly about? Myseries of the Sith and other related games. Also Tomb Raider 1 &2 were very interesting to me for awhile.

Otherwise popcap games are an interesting time passer.

My girlfriend is addicted to Audiosurf on the PC, and she's been plowing through Rockband and Elebits on our Wii. She's also a big fan of Wii Sports, although that isn't really something you can play through and beat like a 'normal' game.

yep yep, i had once thought of getting her a DS. Thanks for the replies.
I do remember i started out my gaming days on the Sega Genisis playing sonic the hedgehog.
i guess getting interest peaked in games before FPS games in general will help.
I do want to push towards PC games though, i spend most of my time on the computer, and having a LAN with my girlfriend attending and enjoying herself is almost my greatest fantasy.
I do think im gonna have to break down and get her a DS and buy her brain age and some other puzzle games. kinda sucks im the only one out of the two of us who has money... guess thats what i get for getting a girlfriend
