After 5 years of bureaucratic drama the spot of my boat is fully mine now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My lawyer got a letter from the city today that my complaint is valid and that I will get the spot.

Background information: Boats can only lie in Amsterdam with a permit which you can only get if you've owned and lived on it since 1995... I've lived there since 1994 when I inherited the boat from my mother... Some politician wanted to get as many boats out of there as possible and they told the people who have authority over the boats that that would be their mission... Because I was 14 when I inherited the boat and things where chaotic because of that and my mothers suicide they thought they could fuck me over and get my boat to leave. In 2003 I got a letter that my boat should GTFO...
I put a complaint in because I didn't agree with this one bit... Now the drama started. First there was a hearing in the city which I lost. I appealed this and we went to court. First the local City court. I won this and they appealed. Then the higher court but the city made the case go over minutiae so that even when I won (which I did) I still didn't get my permit.
This kept on going like this for 5 long years, in these years I couldnt get my own power (got it from the neighbours) and I also was too afraid to really improve my boat...

And today, my lawyer calls telling me THAT ITS FUCKING OVER.

So I'm bloody euphoric, I'm going to get smashed tonight, maybe see Massive Attack and just celebrate that this 5 year old stone around my neck is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
