Well being serious for a minute it actually makes more sense to be ethical and responsible as a businessman.  A lot of people think that they can make a lot of money being very slimey, and in the short term thats true.  But looking at where all those people are now, most are in various stages of bankruptcy.  My family is known for being complete bastards on the negotiating table, but they are always fair and ethical.  Because of that they can do business with the same people over and over again, and people respect them and want to do business with them.

Same with me.  I've told people they don't need appraisals when they didn't, even when I needed the money.  I've gone the extra mile to do free work to correct things that weren't specified in the order but they needed to make stuff work for them.  Because of that and just trying to do a good job I've already developed quite a reputation, one that is actually surprising to me.  And we are still going even after a lot of the more unscrupulous appraisers are in danger of going out of business or are in legal trouble.

Just got back.  North Carolina is beautiful and I <3 Asheville.  On the other hand, no internet for a week sucks.
