Do yourself a favor and download the demo.  I have yet to show anyone this game without them disappearing to play it for a while.  You make a character, start on a horse, and begin your quest to conquer the world.  It's a giant sandbox where you violently maim people in what has to be the best medieval combat game I've ever played.

I did a search that turned up nothing, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone posted about this already in the past.  If so MY BAD DAWG DON'T LYNCH ME.

You shouldn't have to worry about that. We (and by that I mean I) try to discourage that sort of asinine behaviour. :p

Yeah, I played this a while ago until the trial forced me to stop.
The game is awesome/addictive.

I tried the trial for this like a couple years ago and didn't get into it, but I tried it again a couple months ago when the new patch came out and ended up buying it.

It's suprisingly addictive for a game with almost no story, out dated graphics, plenty of glitches and some impossible quests.

Easily worth the money I spent on it, I've probably sunk a hundred hours into it already

I played the demo a while ago until I realized it had no multiplayer and soloing wasn't viable for doing most stuff.  I didn't want to raise an army or anything, and you couldn't seem to battle anything alone other than arena stuff.

You can go rape farmsteads and bandits that aren't on horseback until your murderous heart is content solo.  The real fun though is taking over castles and eventually the world, you do need an army for that though.

Well, anything about Mount and Blade needs to be revived.
I bought it too and it i pretty damn awesome, especially with the battle sizer mod.
My favorite game mod is Eagle And The Radiant Cross.

Radiant Cross probably does Flintlock style guns the best, out of all the mods that do use them.

I use the Naive Expansion mod.  More items, better ai tactics, people with spears can brace and knock your ass off your mount so going against dudes not on horseback becomes very dangerous when they have pikemen.  It generally is more difficult, and more fun imo.  I also use the high res texture pack.

Battle Re-sizer: (Allows you to make battle sizes up to 1000 i.e.:  500 troops on each side.)  Warning:  Going above 200 has a decent chance to crash the game unless you have a beast machine.  I can comfortably do around 400 with vid settings maxed and the high-rez texture pack.
