I don't care what anyone says, Heath was definitely a better joker. A much better rendition of the character. Everyone seems to suck up to Nicholson just because he's Nicholson. He didn't make himself indistinguishable from the the character, you felt it was Nicholson and not the character himself. In this regard, Heath did a much better job, when you looked at the screen you didn't see heath ledger, you saw the muthafockin Joker. Felt just like the comics. Also, I hated burton's batman unfaithful  to the batman formula.

I finally got to see this today.

I know pretty much nothing about this whole series aside from what little I learned from the cartoon on saturday mornings; but holy shit, this was an amazing movie.

I LOVE the Joker. Well done, well played... perfect in my uninformed opinion. I also loved the Two-Face part. I kept thinking that his name was familiar and couldn't remember why... then as soon as I saw the events that lead up to it I was like "oh YEAH!" It was well done.

Only things I didn't like about the movie weren't really batman related; some of the effects, such as on two-face's well... face were a tad lame IMO. I think... yeah I think that's all that bothered me.

Was definitely a "corny" cartoon and it wasn't as good as the first batman cartoons.  But I agree with you in that it was a very unique and entertaining batman cartoon.

Really?  I loved what they did with two faces face.  The only thing I didn't like was that bit about "what was it that you used to call me?"  That was lame.  I'd rather they did it more like The Long Halloween, where you see his fixation on 2 and brought out his split personality disorder more.  Because that's what he is supposed to be, someone who has so much rage and hatred in him and no way to let it out being who he is that he developed a different personality.  And flipping his coin is more than just making a decision its determining which personality will be in control.

You should read Gotham Central, they pulled a lot of stuff from that comic for the movie and it really was phenomenal, the two face arc actually won some awards.

What annoys me is that almost every reviewer has gone on and on about how much this isnt a comic book movie and how good it was of the creators to break away from that and not make it look like a comic book.

It annoys me because this is by far the most faithful Batman movie to date as far as the comic books are concerned.  I know because as I was watching it I was recognizing scene after scene.  I couldn't tell you which ones they are from but since I've only read the Frank Miller arcs and Gotham Central I'd say start there if you are curious.  I can't imagine how much more is in there I didn't know about.

I just didn't like the eye, it seemed really lame to me. Would it stay that way? I mean his face was super sweet and I agree about the personality part... but the eye was just like "... wat?"

I agree about Two-Face's face. I think it would have been better had they left it charred and not so totally burnt off. But that's just me griping about nothing because this movie really was perfect.

First input for me here, I think:

Dark Knight was really, really a good film, but the constant calm, COMINATCHA, calm, COMINATCHA routine got kind of tiresome by the very end. I love twists and turns in any form, so the Joker's scheming - while it could get a bit hard to want to keep up with - was really a treat for me.

Ledger's Joker is unimpeachable, as far as supervillains go; I've never seen Nicholson's, so I have no benchmark here, but the way Heath fleshed out his role - constantly checking his scars with his tongue, the spur-of-the-moment bipolarism, the erratic, almost frightened behavior - those were quirks of a depth I've only seen from living legends like Brando or Bogart. His aura and the atmosphere he created were untouchable, ready to become a legendary swan song in the annals of cinema.
