Here is my take on it.. I think girls are into it because they think its cute, guys are into it for the same reason they are into anime or anything else because its different and it expands their imaginations hence they think its cool.  As for the "furry porno" and such.. i mean... I personally dont understand it nor do i want to but I'm not here to judge, to each his own, its weird and gross to me but its not a reason to HATE someone.  I'm sure everyone in here has some weird shit that they like to do but will never mention, heh, just the other day Squishy asked me to put butterscotch on this balls and lick it off wearing a Gene Simmons mask. 

My point is, there is enough hate in the world and hate is fear and people fear what they dont understand.....it is still pretty lame tho

There is a difference between a fetish and a sexual fetish. Fetishes in general are irrational, meaning that you can't qualify your attraction to it.

For instance, one could consider my focus around gaming, my pure love of it, to be a fetish, and in truth it is since I retrofit almost everything into its paradigm. I can't figure out exactly what it is that keeps me in it (oh sure, I could say that I enjoy spelunking through the rules of a game, but that just brings up another question on why I like doing that), but it's a part of me and it's just a way I relate to the world. Whereas, my love of computers stems from gaming. Because computers are a core part of gaming, I've developed a fascination with them and most of my knowledge is derived from my understanding of games.

Being a furry is a fetish. It's irrational in that it is a core part of people, and that their other interests didn't draw them there. Label it what you want, it is a fetish. Now, a sexual fetish, maybe not. It just depends if such turns you on, or you can't help but superimpose anthropomorphism onto sexual activity.

I'm surprised to be saying this but this (mostly) echoes my feelings on it.  I used to hate gay people cuz I'm from the south, but then I met some and they were pretty cool.  I still can't stand to see men kiss but I realized a lot of the severe homophobes had some definite signs of being gay themselves.  I think they were just afraid to face their own sexuality.  Me I just had the day when I seriously sat down and thought hmmm sex with a dude......not interested.  OK I'm over it, fears gone I know I'm not gay.  I think it's the same with furries.
