I've installed hundreds of audio and video editing systems, and the software the client decides to use as well as their storage solutions will dictate what platform they use. One is not better than the other if the shit is built right, setup correctly, and used by a competent operator. Some of the high end systems (Flame, Smoke, Lustre, etc.) run on Linux workstations.

They just make computers for different purposes.

People's hatred of Apple is a lot like they're hatred for Sepheroth. They don't actullay dislike the company/charecter, it's the annoying fan base that gets to them and mars there opinion of the former.

Personally,  I like my Apple devices. I don't own a Mac computer since gaming on one is non existent, but they're well built machines with some very useful programs. What annoys me is that now that they've become popular, the Apple Stores are gigantic clusterfucks full of thorughly confused shoppers and that since they now have a huge fiercly loyal fanbase, they can pull ridicoulous shit like the whole iPhone price drop and recive next to no flack for it.

Well said.  I really don't hate apple (in fact I recommend Macs to people who aren't computer savy) but asshats like my one friend who is kind of a Mac support guy thinks they are the gods of computers.  Majority of Mac users aren't tech savy enough to fully harness the OS and those few that are shouldn't have a problem keeping a PC working.
