I meant about the cheats not working. R4 uses the same system as Action Replay, and the same codes. All my other ones show up....save for the TWEWY ones.

[/quote]Dave's argument is not ad hominem.  That would be if he said TWEWY is a shitty game cause anyone that plays it is [insert attack here].  Instead he says it's a shitty game cause the main character is annoying, the system sucks, and the story is too cryptic.  Those sound like pretty valid points to me.

[/quote]it all depends on how you play the game. I barely use the top screen and have it set on autoplay unless I'm getting my ass handed to me by a boss and I barely even move Neku around.

And I don't really see the story as cryptic in the beginning.

It's Japanese which is damn near assures the story sucking.  The gameplay and graphics and music are all great though, so who cares?  I let my boyfriend do most of the playing on it though... FFTA2 is mine =o.

Yeah, so, I was kinda bored by this game.  I disagree with Dave on the art and music and story - I really loved the art direction, the jpop was excellent, and the mysteries in the story made me want to keep playing. Because of the rave reviews in this thread I kept playing for about a week longer than I probably would have on my own.

However, the gameplay seemed very tired and repetitive by day 2.  And the main char being a constant douche, while good for the story, made it difficult for me to identify or give a shit about his whiny brat ass. By day 5 I got so bored of trudging through the same gameplay that I sent my rental back to gamefly. Mostly I got bored of the combat, but the forced-choice dialogue menus were pretty dumb too. Just let me fucking clean the statue already and not have to have the solution force-fed through 28 lines of script already.

I wouldn't say it is a bad game, but it certainly doesn't appeal to the whole rpg spectrum.

That I can agree to Rummy, in that it's actually well thought out and logical. Dave's bitching did nothing for me :3.

I think the gameplay is great. Yeah Neku is an emo bitch, but "Another Day" makes up for that. So while I don't agree with your sentiments, I can see your point.

The story actually grew on me.  Granted I hated Neku during most of the game but at the very end he grew on me.  Plus Joshua is such a badass no matter how feminine he looks.

My one gripe is how that there is a ton of pins but half of them do the same thing and the game is very cryptic on telling you how to evolve them.  So I let my DS sit for a good 4 hours to pick up "Alien" visitors and my pin doesn't end up evolving.  Then I set up my pins and don't play for 5 days and none of them evolve either.

If you want to figure out how they evolve... look up a guide.  No other way afaik.  Which is what turned me off from going further with it too.
