most people dont understand the hidden political humor behind alot of the south park episodes.. most of them are up in your face but alot of it is subliminal shit.. matt stone and trey parker are geniuses.  The earlier episodes, funny, but not as evolved as the later ones.

1) its not subliminal its subtle
2) they arent subtle, they just prefer to work on the edge of metaphors to avoid touble and still poke fun at things

they're clever but they arent special, they still make a living out of taking the piss out of other people

I agree with what Grey said. Except I'd have pluralised genius to genii because I'm a bit of a cunt. His point stands strong though, however you wish to define it. Subtle or metaphorical, so many people see the glaringly obvious parody but miss out on the more shrewdly satirical subtext.
