They refuse to move the projected path away from RIGHT ON FUCKING TOP OF ME, so as of right now, the eye will come close to or directly hit my neighborhood.

Dude, I'm telling you, Go blow bubbles outside when the eye hits.  It's the second gayest act available to man.

Damn hurricanes, they always run across your stupid country to drop one full week of rain in eastern Canada.

Also, Fail, I say you have nothing to lose if you leave your house for a few days. Don't be so optimistic, don't forget about the terrorists the communists global warming affecting weather.

In England it rains sometimes, that's.... slightly inconvinient.
In the Arizona valley, it never rains.

NEVER.

It's rained a few times in the last few days.

Quite ironic that it started raining about 10 minutes after I made that post.

You and Benito may be onto something. o_O

I'm watching some newscasts in an hour, I'll be late to SBS.  The parish to the south of me will be mandatory come tomorrow morning.  My parish is still voluntary.

They mentioned the difference between voluntary and mandatory evacuation on the news a while ago.
Voluntary evacuation:  "If you don't leave, okay, but we wish you would."
Mandatory evacuation:  "If you don't leave, call the Red Cross and give us your name so we can notify next of kin."

With this intensification, the chance of me remaining here so I can try to blow bubbles in Gustav's eye is diminishing rapidly.

btw, I appreciate y'all.  Thanks. Big Grin

Cat 5's are not pretty, but the hurricane loses strength quickly as it travels over land.  Fail get up north!

Also hurricane party? (much funner when you are just outside the actual hurricane)

Seriously, Fail. Leave. Right now. It's currently a Cat 4 hurricane, already stronger than Katrina.

God wishes to smite you state for it's strange use of Parishes instead of Counties.  I'd leave.

Also, after Katrina, don't be surprised if you see a "no vacancy" sign nailed to the "Welcome to Texas" sign on I-10.

Damn Hannah is coming right on its heels.  So much for this being another mild hurricane season.  >Sad

Also it looks like they are projecting it to stay hurricane strength until it gets all the way to the top of Louisiana, so I'd recommend going to visit a relative in another state.  Better safe than safari.

I am so glad I moved away from the house right next to lake pontchartrain in mandeville.

All I have to worry about is greenland melting and being underwater, YAY NYC.

To add with everyone else, GTFO FAIL!!! BE SAFE.
