it's driving me crazy. I pushed fn+f12 but it only disables my lighting not the actual touchpad. How do I disable it?

Should be software that comes with it, I just have to press Fn+F9 on my laptop, check the mouse setting in your control panel it might be there. I know in vista there is a 'disable touch pad if USB device attached', so it would turn it off automatically when you attach a normal mouse.

I don't have the same equipment you have to verify this, but I'm pretty sure that if you stare at these pictures for long enough you will permanently disable your touchpad.

I hear it also works for an eraserhead mouse.

My fix:

Take two to three stickies notes.

Apply over touch area.

Tape down.
