Both boards take both. SATA is just a rule now, and IDE will be supported for the near future at least.

I just say that cause it would save me money to just use the HD I have now that works perfectly fine and isn't that old yet.  I'll get a new one if I have to, but I'd rather wait for right now, instead of making sure my PC insides are more aesthetically pleasing lol

And to double check my list...

Total = $662.94

And holy crap...I just did the UPS Guaranteed 3 Day Service to calculate the shipping...9 Bucks...Thank god I don't live in Alaska anymore XD Would've cost nearly 100 bucks I bet to get it up there.  I certainly will not miss the shipping up there lol

If everything looks good, I'm gonna work on ordering it today.

Doing a bump just to make sure CF sees this to confirm what I got.  When it comes to spending nearly 700 bucks, I want to double check that I'm right and not forgetting anything.

Yep, everything looks great. Good luck with your build, and remember: if you should happen to end up with a DOA part, they're all under a minimum of a 30 day warranty with Newegg. Also, don't forget to download and fill out the rebates, that'll save you some big monies!

It only took me like 2 weeks to order the parts (Curse you Credit Cards!), but I finally got all the pieces yesterday and everything installed.  It even turned on without exploding or frying anything *Self High-Five!*

Though I have come up with a snag.  I went to install XP on the new HD, but it says I need to put in a valid Windows disk, though it says Windows XP up top.  I tried two XP disks with the same result.  I know the drive works cause it loaded it up the setup in the first place.  Any help is welcomed or maybe someone can give me some prices on what it costs Best Buy to work on stuff lol

You sure it's an XP and not an XP upgrade disk? That's what usually happens when someone tries to use an upgrade disk by accident. :-\

Don't use Best Buy ever, they'll charge you ridiculous amounts of money for the simplest things (I think it's like $60 for them to install Ubuntu). If you don't have an XP disk that works, I would suggest trying to install some flavor of linux until you can 'acquire' a copy of XP.

Well it does say upgrade on it, but I've used it a number of times before to install XP onto a HD and do fresh installs.  I used both of them to freshly install XP on two seperate computers before which is why I don't get that it's not working this time.

So all I need is a full Windows XP disk then?  I can probably get one somehow and then just use the key that I got with my copy of XP?
