[/quote] Use/Disuse systems can be both good and bad, I prefer being able to spend some kind of points in things, especially if I know Im going to need them at some point but can't just "level them". It wasn't so bad in oblivion, but in like Final Fantasy II it made me want to hit someone.  Sig by Joel |

I really liked Oblivion. It had its issues but it was still really fun. I didn't mind the sameness of environments at all. It's one specific region, of course it's going to look similar everywhere.

But, seriously, the thing that bothered me the most about Oblivion was definitely the enemy leveling system. It took absolutely all the fun out of exploration; no matter where you went, everything was at the appropriate difficulty for you. I want a game where if someone warns me not to go up onto a mountain because the hideous ogres live there, there really will be hideous ogres that will kick my ass if I go up to early. Conversely, if I come back later chock full o' power, I want to have the satisfaction of whupping those ogres at their own game. If they are always level-adjusted to me for whenever I go there, that fun is gone. |

[/quote] Yea he's done a shit load of potentially brilliant games that have just missed it. Black & White was great but it sort of became too much of a bitch with micromanaging and difficulty and stopped being fun. He seems to be known for that. He comes up with fantastic ideas and then screws something up in the process and makes a flawed masterpeice. |
