I dont think anyone seems to understand the FREE part of it. Its just like MOD night and I wish more people would have come out, not including Atom, Shadowcast, myself, and the two other vets that I know that joined us, only 5 people came out

If you are on a laptop you can't use speed stepping, basically what happens in any old game, PS included when you speed step, is that the game itself will speed up, sort of like a speed hack.

Speed stepping works by underclocking your laptop processor on the fly when its not doing anything to conserve power. When you boot up PS the strain on the CPU tells the processor to begin executing things at normal clock speed, but since the EXE has already started it speeds it up too. In game this will cause you to move like twice as fast and take any other action twice as fast as someone else in the game.

I got this too, it just complains if you have a certain Windows power management settings, even if they're totally unrelated to processor speeds.

Back during reserves I fucking loved infiltraitor.  The thrill of sneaking inside of a hotbed base right past an enemy spawn, hacking enemy vehicles, captureing something right under the enemy's nose... ah, my kind of playstyle.  Espionage!

The implant you are talking about is sensor shield.  I have some protips for those wanting to be an infilitrator as I have been doing it since this game's beta more than 5 years ago. 

1)  I hope you like dying.  As a noob infil (and in some cases a vet) you will be lucky to land a 1-1 K/D ratio.  It will more likely be 1-2+.  If you are one of those people that gets mad and breaks shit every time you die, this is not the profession for you.  First, there is the bane of your existence, darklight which makes you glow like a lightbulb if someone has it on and is looking at you.  Second, running by motion sensors is bad, your name shows above your head marking you as easy prey for everyone around (this is the same for slow-flying mosquito radar AND interlink facility radar, crouch walking negates all of these EXCEPT INTERLINK.  If you do not have the sensor shield implant, walking into the SOI of a base with interlink benefits via lattice or not = quick painful death).  Third, there are still some uncatchable hacks in this game, by far the most popular being an old directx hack (uses an older DX version that has limited support for transparency and renders invisible cloakers as easy to see as every other person around).

2)  Being a useful cloaker at low BR is hard.  You will not have adv/expert hacking or data corruption which is where your role really shines.  You will not have med or adv med and engineering which is another area you shine (IE:  heal that max unit's armor then rez him in their spawn room for fun and profit).  Your best bet is to go combat engineer if you can right off the bat as it allows you to stealthily kill massive amounts of shit (see: mines, spitfires, BOOMERS <--- this will be your bread and butter).  I also HIGHLY recommend Medium assault as the MA pistol is retarded broken.  One clip at less than 20m will kill any soldier (3 shots to kill standard armor, 4 for agile, 5 for rexo. add 1 more if they have personal shield), personal shield or not.  If you have 3 cloakers unload their clips into a max, he insta dies, and you can snipe out to around 80-100m effectively with it.

3)  Refer to # 1.  Seriously, I hope you like the respawn screen.

[/quote]I concur, being a cloaker at low BR is fucking rough. When I got started back in the day, I had the most luck with getting advanced hack & uni-max, but even then you need to be ~BR10 to get enough certs to really be useful.

I haven't messed with the new MA pistols yet, since I'd dropped MA on my cloaker to pick up the phantasm. Its an interesting aircraft, but handles like a boat. I was disappointed. As far as pistols go, I still swear by the AMP, on single shot its got some of the best accuracy and damage at range, and running full auto will tear regular infantry up at close range. What I really miss is the glowstick, it made melee an entertaining (if almost completely unviable) option for infil.
