The trick is to time it so it explodes right as it reaches your opponent.

I always liked doing that with DK, then grabbing the edge and watching them fall

Ummm.... Isn't it basically unplayable online though? Last time I played smash online I could finish 2 beers in the time it took for a match to start, and it lagged so frequently I could finish another beer during each lag spike.

Depends on who you are playing, I think things might have slowed down on Nintendo's network. Its also easier with actual friends to connect versus trying to do do random matches.
