To follow-on the hot chicks thread, the poster should describe, concisely, what it is they like about what they are posting.
Seriously, wtf is Welder? |

It saddens me that Youtube has become the de facto standard method of listening to music on the internet. It's probably unlikely but if I post an album cover there's a chance that someone will download a proper quality version and give it a real listen. Welder is an electronic music producer from San Francisco and this particular album is ambient downtempo. Very chilled and soulful. Also: |

Which is where a description is helpful in aiding the reader to discern whether or not it is worth taking the time to track down a proper copy. Unless I have heard of a band, the album cover usually tells me nothing. However, your description was enough to let me know whether or not I might be interested. Actually, when I google "Welder music" the first thing that came up was their myspace. Would that be preferable to you? When I hear about a new band, I want to hear their sound as quickly and efficiently as possible. It seems that people have adapted youtube to fill that void. |

The Myspace player is slightly better quality I guess. Although some bands seem to still upload terrible quality clips. It's probably just me anyway, Cbre is a professional musician and he doesn't seem to care about Youtube quality. My point was I'd rather not even do that much. If someone recommends me an album, I'll DL the best rip I can find to decide whether I like it. |

[/quote] I think its more about convenience, stuff is easier to find and sample there, if it perks your interest then search for copies of proper quality  Sig by Joel |

If I wanted people to hear and enjoy my music I wouldn't care how they hear it..as long as they enjoy it and experience what I experience when I play. If I hear something I like I try to find a hard copy of it. Usually, I can't find any of the music I listen to on Youtube anyways. I can always find live performances though. And sometimes guys just playing for the lulz seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZt7VySrAEE Yea sure..it's not the best thing in the world, but I can always use youtube to find new stuff. Not to mention, if I'm studying a solo I usually look it up on youtube to see how people interpreted it and get ideas for how I want to play it.
