Agreed on the awesomeness of New Year's Eve, though I would not say I love it more (or less) than All Hallow's Eve or North American Thanksgiving or American Independence day, which all have their own charms and customs.
I have dinner reservations for me and mine at the best wine bar in town, after which we will stroll to the park and watch the fireworks. Hopefully it remains as mild as the last few days have been so we can stay outside longer, and perhaps bring the dog along. Makes me wish I lived in Europe where it is ok to bring your dog into restaurants and stores. |

Couldn't get a ticket for the new years party I was planning on going to, but unfortunately all my other friends I was going with did. I do have some fallback plans I could do, but I've already told them I wasn't coming in lieu of something else, so I don't know if I want to show up now. :-\ Caffeine`brb!u: /facepalm Caffeine`brb!u: you have the technological ability of Dede Caffeine`brb!u: OOOOOOO what does this button do Caffeine`brb!u: *break* Caffeine`brb!u: SCOTTY GET OUT OF MY SERVER |

I was planning on partying with friends down at Baltimore Harbor, but now it's freezing cold with 40 MPH+ winds, so we may just be bar hopping instead...

Now that New Year's is 2.5 hours away for me, I know exactly how I'll spend NYE.
Alone and afraid. Actually... * Finish watching LSU defeat Georgia Tech * Achieve satisfaction with new home network * Play Diablo II with a friend * Watch some fireworks at midnight * Treat Mom to a birthday din-din tomorrow New Year's is good for a day off and some pretty skylights. Beyond that, him and I aren't what you'd call "on speaking terms". I'll take New Year's Scrooge for $100, Alex! Still, though, Happy New Year, BRB'U, and please celebrate responsibly! i.e. don't get drunkdriver'd. |

Watching a BNL live concert on DVD right now, might go play L4D with some real life friends.
Oh, yeah, and I ate a huge dinner at Chili's with family. <3 |

Happy New Year!
Got drunk last night with friends, a good time was had. We decided to stay in and celebrate instead of going out and waiting in lines at the clubs and paying ridiculous amounts for a cover. So we had the fridge stocked full of beer and liquor after we went out for sushi and the total bill between the wife and I came out to be $120! That's not so bad considering one of the places we were thinking about going to was charging $60 cover.. PER PERSON! And that's just to get in the door On BAL-SACKs: (07-10-2008, 06:52 PM)rumsfald link Wrote:Like our namesake, the number one thing we do is hang around. Between your legs. I stole advertising window-clings and put them up at different establishments. Did you know Blockbuster now sells a $.99 Bacon Double Stacker?
Also, I made disgusted faces at my $35 bottle of Talisker single-malt because I'm sick and can't touch alcohol. |

If you guys haven't seen it, you should see Puni Puni Poemi as well, it's just three episodes but total hilarity. |
