Seems to me that this is the fundamental point for now. The video game website market is stupidly over-saturated and last time the idea of content was brought up people were disagreeing about which direction to take. As far as I'm concerned, there is no room even for reviews at the moment. Other places have got that covered and then some. The only viable option for articles would be to put up pure opinion pieces and maybe anecdotal shit in the hope that the idiosyncrasies of the community are noticeable enough to stand out from the crowd. Me and ain talked about this before and I think the idea is to gear the site around playing games.  So reviews will be to promote or say don't bother with mods or obscure and old games.  Hopefully we can get some interaction between the community as well.  It wouldn't be straight reviews of new releases as way too many sites do that already.  Basically just what you should spend your money on and play with everyone or what to save your money on.

I also want to reflect the technical side of our community by having howtos on how to build a rig, cheap gaming rigs and other technical gaming related articles. (I want to do a series about gaming on alternative OSes)

Further more, talking about features while I'm actually coding them isn't jumping the gun... I was talking about technical features not article features...

That's been the plan since the idea of Brb,U as a community first came up. There are plenty of sites who do reviews as well if not better than we could, so no sense competing with that. What we've done and what we should continue to do is be a community around playing games together.

I like the idea of map reviews as well. They don't have to be as in depth as a game or mod review, just some main points about it and whether we thought it sucked or not. Maybe we could have a sort of voting system for certain things like maps and mods and the ones with the highest votes could appear somewhere on the main page.

It is, if someone wants to post a review they can, of pretty much anything, from a mod to a really old game, user driven content is the name of the game

We dropped the game review shit A LOOOOOOOONG time ago. Keep up.

We are looking for interesting features like what ain is aiming for.

Ideas
1. How about TF2 map reviews from the standpoint of all the classes?+ Tips and Tricks (with screens of course).

2. How To's on Hammer (plus screens)

3. Articles or blogspots similar to what we do with TFT, FNF on Dtoid (plus screens of the previous ones, videos) Basically advertise on a higer level our community nights. This would help with server pop..and help with the hopefully soon to come back mod nights, and or PS, brb RTS, brb 4 dead, ect. ect.

4. Garry's Mod anyone?

5. or how about high lighting some of the kick ass work the people here do? The map makers..movie makers..animated gifs using ms paint.

I think the main idea is that we do features and articles not revolving around news, reviews of games...but things that bring us closer as a community and ultimately make it bigger.

It's been a lot easier to teach people directly, (talk to Bobo or Dave) and I think they understand it more.

Perhaps I could try and write some How-To's?
