The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

Ocarina of Time > Majora's Mask... anytime.

It lasts longer.
OOT's plot is way better than M's M's (a fucking moon falling?).
Although the mask system was good, it didn't beat the young/adult Link one. (And masks annoyed me in the end, taking all my weapons slots)
3 in game days puts too much stress (although it was a lot), that was not necessary in a puzzle-like game like those in the Zelda series.
2 times more temples in Ocarina of Time.
Epona's useless in Majora's Mask, which is a shame.
Ganondorf/Ganon is way more epic as a final boss than the Skull Kid/Mask with spikes.

Your other choices were good, but I don't get why you picked this one over Ocarina of Time, Karth... :-\
[/quote]

I plead the first.

Technically, Majora's Mask was my first Zelda game.

But by the looks of it, you hated everything that I loved in the shift from OoT to MM:

My biggest problem with Ocarina of Time was there was no sense of urgency when your out roaming. Just wondering around until you found the next cutscene. The formula worked, but I found Majora's Mask's formula to be much more involving. To know what happens at what time of day, it gives me the sense of urgency that makes a game seem important again.

I hated the Young/Adult formula as well. While it wasn't and still isn't a bad idea, I hated how you had to walk ALL the way back there and to somewhere else for the first couple hours of the game. It. Was. Freaking. TEDIOUS.

For the temples argument Quality > Quantity (hate the water temple, hated the shadow temple, hated the spirit temple)

Epona was useless? What were you smoking at the Great Bay? Or the Alien Invasion? Or the main game? Epona was just as "useless" in Majora as she was in Ocarina.

And yeah, Ganon was way more epic, but then again, so was windwaker's.

ok since too many bitched and moaned...  please choose your top 5 from ANYconsole or arcade... again, please indicate which platform the game is for

Guesstures - My kitchen table.

Edit: Kids like Karth are the reason Old man Caff hates new games.

Karth's choices right now look fine, too bad Joker can't pick anything that's not on the PS2. Lots of great games on it, but there's a lot better games across other systems

I mean about Majora's Mask.  I'd list some of my favorites but I'm too busy thinking up awesome board games.

Cranium was pretty sweet.

I remember good times playing Risk, and some epic moment with Axis and Allies too!

Both are pretty sweet games. My first game in each lasted over 5 hrs (kids here like to overthink things). Smile

Mega Man 2 (NES)
Crystalis (NES)
Star Control 2 (PC)
DOOM (PC)
Tetris (Game Boy)

Too many honourable mentions to mention, so I won't. Having to choose between Terranigma and Crystalis is a pain in the ass though. :p
