I know  , I was giving you a hard time back.  Anyways I get a kick out of the microsoft digs too so I'm not one to talk.  I do think Apple's products are overpriced though.

Meh. I think operating systems in general are overpriced, apple's hardware is really overpriced, most other pre-builts are overpriced as well, and gamer rigs are for fags with more money then sense. /jealous

180 drivers are out of beta. Haven't installed yet but the nVidia page makes some pretty bold claims about performance increases. Only for 8800 and above cards.

for my 8600m GT (with altered .inf to make it install) 178.13 seems to be the gold standard so far, even for 8800 users.  Despite nvidia's claims to the otherwise.

They always make it so hard to tell. The release notes just seemed to list bug fixes and, as you say, support for the 285/295 cards. That said, I'm assuming they include the changes implemented in the beta release last month to improve GTAIV performance, which seemed to make quite a difference for some people so I guess there are improvements. I've only played TF2 since installing but that ran smoothly anyway so it's not a great reference point.

hmmm. I installed it and now I can't go 10 seconds in Fallout 3 without crashing. BRB installing the old driver.
