I'll probably dual-boot Win7 whenever Wedge gets his new computer and I get his old one. It seems like it'll have a lot more support than Vista does. And 64-bit XP is kinda buggy >_>

I have noticed that when I unzip files into a folder, the folder that was created doesn't show up until I refresh; after an F5 they show up of course, but otherwise there's no auto refresh.
Anyone else who's trying windows 7 notice this? |

well, you have to remember a lot of people buy prebuilt computers, etc. and those companies stick vista on machines that can't run it, so there's a lot of the problems right there

I heard a lot of ghetto modern laptops have issues with drivers if they came with Vista and you try to put XP on it. Is that true?
My hate for Vista comes from being horribly unoptimised... I don't want to have a gig of RAM just to run the OS... Also, I find the GUI very annoying but that has been a problem for me since windows existed. For me windows 7 is better because it seems to play games a lot better, slow downs are a lot more rare than they were on my vista install. But then again, my Vista install was half a year old already and Vista bogged down a lot quicker than XP... So yeah, the speed boost is nice and the dock imitation isn't bad but for the rest it's still windows and I still wouldn't do anything but game in it. Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

How much does OSX require, is there an equivalent version of OSX to compare to vista (ie: age wise), cause Id be pretty sure with all the bling and shit they put into OSX it probably has similar RAM requirements.
OS X has been benchmarked as being quite a bit faster than vista, also OS X gets faster with every release because they optimise a lot every time. This is of course not too fair as windows has so much backwards compatibility shit. Also, about the older games... wine under linux plays older games better than vista does. So, Apple will continue making furry-based names for their OS's, and Microsoft will keep trying to make a decent one for theirs. (I think they seriously stopped trying...Windows 7)
