10 Things You Don't Know About... BRB'U edition

1 - I am an Eagle Scout. I went all the way from being a Tiger in Cub Scouts (the beginning) all the way to Eagle. I finished my last bit of work for it like a week before my 18th birthday. Then my Eagle Board of Review was a month later.

2 - I collect comic books, non-collectible card games, and board games. Namely in comic books...the Knights of the Dinner Table. I have every issue (save for one special) in some form or another. I've got individual issues starting with #40 or so, and they're nearing issue #150 now. I have EVERY set of Munchkin, including the Dice. And the board games are, well, board games :V.

3 - I cried at the end of the first Pokemon movie when I saw it in theatres ;-;. I also cried at the end of Milk.

4 - I have a Bachelor's of Science in Culinary Management. I've had 5 years of Culinary school (including 2 years Vocational in High School), and yet...I'm still washing dishes . But then again, I've only got 4 months of actual restaurant experience now.

5 - I own every Nintendo system, save for the Gamecube and Virtual Boy. Also Gameboy Advance SP, the top-loading NES, the second version of the SNES, and the DS fat. And DSi but that doesn't count yet.

6 - On that note, the first game I ever beat was Duck Tales 2.

7 - I'm still a virgin ;-;. Tho I discount hand & blowjobs, giving or receiving. Actual penetration from (or into) another person is where I make the distinction :V.

8 - I may be a chef. But I love damn near everything :V. Some chefs are snooty and snobby about food....I just care that it tastes good. I love Pizza Hut, and Burger King as much as I love a meal made from scratch. Fuck the haters.

9 - I've sunk over $100, and probably closer to $200 or more into Kingdom of Loathing. And I still love it.

10 - I couldn't sit through Pulp Fiction ;-;. I got to the restaurant, and got bored. I haven't seen any of the Godfather movies either, but the first one is in my Netflix queue.

8. I'd like to take a shot at real drumming, but drum kits are hella expensive.

• I might hate on the US a lot but that is mostly because I hate where it's going compared to where it came from.
  
• I party 24 to 48 hours straight every so often.

• Even though I always complain about work on IRC, I love my job. It's mostly waking up early and the routine that I hate. The job itself is fun and I like my colleagues a lot.

I don't really remember how old I was, except for memories of playing Donkey Kong Country at preschool. Later, when my parents and I were at Circuit City looking for an SNES, I wanted the bundle with DKC, but my parents bought the bundle with Super Mario All-Stars...it did turn out to be a good decision, but why couldn't they buy both games :'(

6. I plan on being an engineer as well.

7. Oh, and I watch very little TV, as well. Right now I watch 24 for one hour a day, which is an hour more than I usually spend watching TV.

10. I snagged my name from Metroid Prime Hunters. That game ate up my life for one summer, then I ragequit due to hackers 

9. My first comic book ever was Watchmen. I only learned about it through a history channel special on the comic book industry.

8. I've been working at a Walgreens pharmacy for 2 years as a lowly service clerk. Mind numbingly easy job and I can only stand it cuz I only work one day a week  ;D

7. I was suspended in 5th grade for telling a supervisor to "Kiss my ass". I used to be quite out spoken but now I'm quite introverted.

6. I stole a bunch of valentines day wind up hearts when I was about 6.  When we got home I proudly showed my mom what I had hidden in my jacket. She didn't share my enthusiasm and made me take em back  :'(

5. I was a console gamer till last year when my roommate happened to be a computer science major. He and I built the comp that I currently use now.

4. I've cracked my skull open. I was running round the house and the counter top corner just happened to be the same height as my noggin.

3. I have a cat named Milkshake, and she is named after the cat from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy .

2. I kinda started pokemon at my elementary school. I was the first in my grade to watch the show, and I told my friends and it spread from there  ;D

1. I'm filipino but I can only understand tagalog not speak it.

1: I'm not a furry. For cereal.

2: I'm a very picky eater unless it comes to exotic food. Indian, Thai, and Ethiopian are my favorites. Pad thai with some pumpkin curry on top over rice may be better than sex. Actually, it's totally better than sex.

3: I wish America was a socialist democracy. Public utilities should never be owned by a private party.

4: I've been playing PC games since I've been a conscious entity. Most of my favorite games are old DOS strategy games. If you've never played Master of Magic go do that right now. Also play Heroes III. It's like virtual heroin.

5: I'm a pack rat. I collect all sorts of stupid stuff I'll never use. But I have an addiction to buying shit at thrift stores and Craigslist >_>

6: I love european board games. Race For the Galaxy and Puerto Rico is some fun times. It's tough finding cool people to play with, though :/

7: I love TF2, but other then that I'm not big into online multiplayer games. I like playing with friends on my couch. Drunken Singstar and Rockband are both awesome. Goldeneye too.

8: Going along with the TF2 thing, if you ever see me playing like absolute shit, it's probably because I'm taking a few bong hits while I play. I try not to mix these activities too much, though

9: I like Star Ocean 3 more than I like the first two.

10.  I'm addicted to NPR

I listen to it all the time.  This also means I often accidentally listen to classical music.  From this I've found that I really like the violin.  I also like the sound of the harpsichord but absolutely hate harpsichord music.

9.  Animals love me for some unknown reason

My dog at my mom's might as well be my stalker.  My first cat will rarely let anyone but me touch her.  As I type this my second cat is all over me and is making it difficult to type.  I also had a bad habit of making my ex-girlfriends pets or roommates pets like me more than them.  This was completely by accident.  At first I really enjoyed this but now I kinda want some space (animals can be really clingy).

8.  I have a sexy librarian for a wife

I can complain about her but deep down I really love her.  Going on a year of marriage on the 23rd.  It's paper right?  I hope so because I plan on making her a shit load of origami flowers of all types.

7.  I change up my habits often to make it difficult for assassins

Actually I just have that perfect storm of nerdism that makes me completely absorb myself in something and then move on to something else.  I've become reasonably good at: origami, photography and various video games.  I've also read far too much and seen way too many movies.  Unfortunately this means I often bounce from hobby to hobby and music genre to music genre.

6.  I like to tell stories

I've tried repeatedly to write some but I just can't get into it the same as telling them.  I tell my wife stories all the time.  Like when we were grocery shopping yesterday I was trying to convince her that ninja were after our granola because of the chocolate.  See after the success of the opium trade in China the English were trying to find a product to trade in Japan.  They tried chocolate but this immediately led to disastrous results as it was found that the normally harmless ninja were drawn to chocolate much in the same way cats are drawn to catnip or menthol.  No chocolate was safe until warlords used chocolate to domesticate ninja and send them on dangerous missions.  This backfired as ninja are fickle and often sell out to the highest bidder, or highest percentage of cocoa.  Eventually the japanese became fed up with ninja and most were hunted and killed.  But to this day those that trade in chocolate will often set a portion of their shipment on the roof as payment for safe travel.

I also like to make up plausible facts.  Did you know that the plural of ninja is ninja?  This is because they are so skilled at hiding their numbers. I never do this online though because I'm not trying to purposefully spread false information.

5.  I've been able to fool some people, including myself, that I'm kinda prescient

I have an over active subconscious and can also be pretty observant.  Every once in a while these things align and I can guess something that usually turns out to be true.  I've been able answer my ex-step-sisters questions before she answered them a couple times (it creeped her out which was hella awesome because she was a bitch but really I could just read it in her face).  When I was like 9 I had an experience where I heard a crack and leapt back before I knew what I was doing.  When I stopped I wondered why the hell I just did that and a huge fucking tree branch landed where I was standing that probably could have killed me.  This made me think I could see the future before I realized I was unconsciously reacting to the sound.  Still it was cool for a bit.

It never happens on command so its rarely actually useful.  Most of the time it just means I figure out a movie's plot in the first ten minutes or notice that Tina Fey sometimes forgets to take off her wedding ring when shooting 30 Rock.  And sometimes it makes me really uncomfortable and I try to ignore it like when I was really wary about a friends fiance's panic attack and later found out that was the first night she cheated on him.

4.  I've never actually hated anyone in my life

I tend to like people.  I also don't really feel like I have the right to judge them.  This usually means that I can end up liking people I really didn't like based on a single moment.  Several of my best friends I didn't like at first and it often confuses my wife how little me and my two best friends have in common.  They've moved away and we rarely get to talk but whenever I hear from either of them it's like no time has passed at all.  Also once I have a good friend I'm very loyal.

3.  I used to like to hang out on roofs

You should try it sometime.

2.  I have never gotten along with americans very well

Not as part of a conscious decision, but all of my friends have been foreign.  Except for one but he is adopted and looks like he's probably greek.

Seriously, I never read them. I read the first 3 words, then the 3 last when a paragraph is more than 3 lines on my screen.

9. I once cut my own tongue with my teeth.

I was in kindergarten, playing with car toys (car toys are awesome), when it was time to eat. I was hungry, so I wanted to put my cars back as soon as possible, and I ran to the box of toys.
There were 2 things I did wrong that time.
- I ran looking at the floor. I can't remember why I was doing that.
- I ran with my tongue out of my mouth. I guess carrying cars took a lot of dexterity, so I had to do it.
Result: I ran into a board, my mouth filling with blood.

7. I've never left North America.

I've never even left the east cost. I really want to visit, at least, Vancouver, because I heard it's very nice, and it's in my own country. But above all, I want to visit France, Italy (because I want to see my countries of origin, if not for more reasons), and Japan (I heard it's pretty nice, and I'd like to know more about Japanese culture).

6. I don't speak Italian =(

I can say a few words... And I can understand it, when spoken slowly, and when the accent isn't too unfamiliar.
