Still deciding if going the full dual-screen fullscreen is worth it on most games. It seems that so far, it is not worth it. But playing TF2 without sniping is pretty damn win if you ask me.
images inc. scaled down for non-obliteration of your screen. YES I KNOW THE COLORS AREN'T MATCHED ON BOTH SCREENS KTHX Anyone else rock the 2 monitor look for games? |

Yeah a two monitor setup makes pretty much fuck all sense when you're going to be obscuring the center of your vision... triple monitor setups are hawt though that requires a $300 adapter on top of the 3 monitors. I'm pretty happy with just using a 42" TV ;O.

I'm about ready to try this (dvi cable is in the mail), but the second one will be just for web/irc/etc. Or I could play TF while I PS so I can Shoot while I Shoot.

I wonder if I hooked one monitor to one video card and another to the other if I could run TF2 and PS at the same time? I mean in theory, this computer has enough cores and processing power to pull it off... OMG, or at least I bet I can Angry it up =O. Just use my old LCD as a secondary for running transports and shit. (09-11-2008, 05:11 PM)Dave link Wrote:i would totaly ride that gay ass dragon thing.

I love that mouse. The only thing I've found thats anywhere close to as awesome is what I'm using now: Razer Diamondback 3G. I'm using it because it glows blue instead of red, is black instead of cream/silver, and uses an IR sensor and illumination instead of red, which looks cooler + is more sensitive. Also, it has 2 side switches on either side of the mouse instead of just 1 like the IM Explorer. It doesn't actually increase your point of view does it? It just stretches the image out farther, right?
Besides, even if it does increase your point of view, you're prone not to pay attention to objects outside the center screen anyways. Everything i know about vision science and my own experience with two monitors tells me as such. |

The triple monitor guy looks like he's doing it, because thats what causes the stuff on the peripheral displays to appear warped. "If you want to be a Double E, bend over and grab your knees...." It allows a wider FOV without it looking weird, FOV 90, the default, is what the makes the game look "best" on a 4:3 or 16:9 moniter If you add more you could do a larger FOV (120, 150, 180) without it scrunching into the more confined space  Sig by Joel |

I would argue that it is faster to saccade 10-15 degrees to either side to scan the periphery than it is to move my arm to move my mouse to change my field of view to scan the periphery. Focal vision and inattention to the periphery is not the only variable in play here. My experience with a central rear-view mirror and two side-view mirrors tell me as such. See also |
