It just crashed on me without even running anything. One of the cores was idling at 75 C. I will repeat that, one of the cores was idling at 75 C, Id bet if I tried to run TF2 it would get hot enough to boil fucking water. The other piece of good news is the card has been discontinued, hopefully I can con them into a nice replacement.  Sig by Joel

Im going to do some more testing today, but as far as a handout goes unless its going to run TF2 at 60 or more FPS no thanks. Ill take this as a sign to concentrate more on finding a job.
I definitely USED to get 60 fps with that card @ 1440x900. Tbh, I haven't noticed any huge performance gains since upgrading to the 8800GT, but I upgraded right around the time that lots of people started get huge performance drops due to the new unlocks and whatnot. So, you could definitely make it get somewhere in the neighborhood of 60fps, more if you dropped your settings to medium/low or something. Or you could just forget us and get a job. :
ptf i run at a good 30 fps sometimes also ill miss you caff (04-09-2013, 11:24 PM)Dr. Zaius link Wrote:well i'm not really understanding how it's faster internet. and like google just magically rolls outs this stuff and it's 100 times faster than my internet? why? that doesn't set off any alarms to anyone? Standard desktop CPUs are a lot more temperature-sensitive than their laptop-specific brethren (at least in the older days) and GPUs in that regard. Regardless, if you can't get a replacement out of ASUS, that X1950 that was offered is a pretty decent card. That's what my dad's computer had while I was down in California for a few weeks, and it ran at settings equal/better than my 8600GTS SLI (without crossfire -- with crossfire, it had no performance gain and instead a performance deficit plus glitching from hell).

You didn't tell me about your history of tearing problems when I spoke to you on the phone. Those are exactly the kind of glitches that I saw in my 4200 before it died, and that went on for about a month after the fan died before the card was completely unusable.

Well i got off the phone with asus today, and the card is under warranty, 3 years ftmfw.
Ill have to talk to the RMA department on Tuesday after the holiday to find out what card I can get because the EN7950 GX2 has long since been discontinued. I'm hoping they dont have any so they have to send me a nice 8 or 9 series card. Â Sig by Joel |
