Speaking of glass desks, how do you like it? I was sorely tempted to buy one when I moved recently because it was cheaper than anything else, but I was and still am utterly terrified of breaking it into a million tiny pieces.

With a mouse pad, fucking nice. The glass is thick and has I dunno, some weird coating shit on it, I guess like what they put on there when they tint your windows? It holds the glass together for the most part even if it breaks. I did break one section of this but that was during the move and I dropped it, so I had to go get a replacement from the store (Told them it just shattered during use and that I'd be happy to pursue a lawsuit over the cuts on my hands if they couldn't just bust open a box and give me a new piece)

Our predecessors have set things up so all we have to do is threaten it and we get what we want. Also custom glass is ridiculously expensive and I had to order a whole new desk to get the one piece.
