i havent played this... but i am a fan of the classics so I stand firm on my belief that old school games are the best and will never be beaten.  Banjo kazooie and tooie were 2 of my favs and i just dont see adding fancy graphics and vehicles can make it any better.  Less is more when it comes to games for me... punch out, mario, sonic, etc... were great because of the simplicity involved.  I duno, just a thought.

Yeah, independent game makers have made the best games, if I look back in last year.

What I really want though is to return to Pokemon before shit got so complex. I don't want to have to sped hours IV Breeding my pokemon, hoping they get the right nature so I can compete. If they just rereleased G/S/C with the only thing changed being wifi I'd be on that like white on rice.

Not really. It was in Red and Blue, they just used it to determine more stuff in G/S (i.e gender, shineyness) Plus it only went up to fifteen then which made it far easier to manage and less essential.

I just feel like G/S/C struck the perfect balance in terms of depth and ease of use, with it's hold items and it's bleeding system, and it's perfect number of viable pokemon that no game since has been able to replicate, and probably never well.

On a cheerier note, not so much a new game, but I would love to see more rare 2D fighters like Rival Schools, MvC and Darkstalkers on XBLA and PSN, which Capcom says there going to start doing

But it was still there and still semi-necessary, the bigger change in GSC imo was splitting 'special' into special attack/special defense, before when it was just special it meant stuff like Mewtwo/Alakazam just raped everything

Old man Caff likes GSC over Red and Blue? Amazing.

Red and Blue always hold a place in my heart for the nostalgia factor, but Gold and Silver really brought the much needed changes to the game, while still keeping things familiar and likable. I skipped whatever came between Gold/Silver and Diamond/Pearl, and after playing through Pearl I can safely say this is way too much shit for a pokemon game. =\ I shouldn't have to look online to know that I have to go to a specific place on a specific day of the week at a specific time to catch 1 pokemon, or read some 12 year old's FAQ about how to breed pokemon. Pokemon breeding to me will always be 1) Find Ditto 2) Locate sexual organ(s) on Ditto 3) Make Ditto babies with X pokemon. D:

Stop trying to make my childhood more complex. *shakefist*
