I saw this article last week and found to present some very interesting hypotheses about foot health / strength.
On a personal note, my feet hurt terrible the first 6-9 months after I sold my car and started walking to work and leisure. The arches were sore, ankles were tender, and I I developed corns on the balls and heels of my feet. Once I realized that most of the shoes I bought when I had a car didn't hold up for walking more than a mile a day, I started buying better fitting and better designed shoes and all my foot problems resolved. So, what Dave said about good shoes. |

75% of the above relates to correct shoe / sock size. My money is that your cleats don't fit right and are causing excessive friction on certain spots of your precious footsies. |

My solution would be: don't play football.
Football sucks, anyways, play hockey instead. [move][glow=black,2,300] Vote Benito 2012  [/glow]                             ï@.[/move] |

When I used to play lacrosse I got blisters on my feet all the time and they would end up tearing open and eventually healing. Then I grew big nasty callouses and the blisters stopped appearing. My solution: suck it up until the skin on your feet hardens. Also, don't pop them.

What Rummy is saying. Make sure you get shoes with support as well. Stuff like Vans, while stylish, will kill your feet if you have to do anything rigorous with them on.

Besides the obvious sock/shoe recommendation...
Just pop/drain the blister. In time the skin will become tougher and you won't have to worry about them. Seeing as how I play football/volleyball/soccer/deliver mail my feet have taken a beating. Let your feet take the beating for the short period of time and eventually they will endure and it will be nothing... |

growing hars skin on your foot in certain spots can make it worse, and it will eventually grow to most of your foot since the skin around the hard spots will be gettin dragged around by the skin that isnt flexible, just wear tight socks that dont cut off blood circulation and wear boots half a size (idk how the size system works in america) bigger than you would in a normal shoe, tie your laces very tight, you can even tape your boots if they arent sticking to youtr foot.

I played football for 3 or 4 years, and had this problem when I started. After the first couple of months you'll be fine. Also, wearing two pairs of socks helps, and as Dave said, make sure your damn shoes fit. |

I have nothing to add because the only time I got terrible foot hurt was when I was doing rock climbing, and those shoes are supposed to be awful. I just had to wait until my feet toughened up.
There might be Kung-Fu training for that. Like iron fist but for feet. |
