Not really. It was in Red and Blue, they just used it to determine more stuff in G/S (i.e gender, shineyness) Plus it only went up to fifteen then which made it far easier to manage and less essential.

But it was still there and still semi-necessary, the bigger change in GSC imo was splitting 'special' into special attack/special defense, before when it was just special it meant stuff like Mewtwo/Alakazam just raped everything

I will play anyone anytime on Diamond/Pearl, just message me on steam, I can breed you pretty much anything too if you want any of the old starters for example.

Rupy/Saphire were alright, they had some good additions, but a lot of fail ones as well. At least...without R/S we wouldn't have mudkips, and the subsequent internet meme.

Fighting online sucks because of all the kids who maximize their pokemon's levels and study the best teams and all that shit, and I already went through Pearl so I assume it'll be the same thing but with 100 more pokemon or so. Really I wonder how they keep thinking up pokemon. Or how no one seemed to know of their existence in the pokemon world till last week.

I think there going to, since there were a bunch of hints about in Pearl (they even had one of the Johto gym leaders as a npc if I recall) plus the battery in the GSC carts are dying, so there soon going to be no way to play it with out emulation.

Yeah, for a while Wobba was OU, but I can get behind his movement back. Ubers is actually a pretty thriving and fun tier now, what with all the new legendaries, and all the other viable contenders like Bilssey and Fortress.

My teams: Infernape, Gengar, Spiritomb, Gyrados, Torterra and the now defunt Wobafett. Might replace him with a Skarmony though.

Its not bad if you have friendly matches or agree to use less common pokemon, the really nice thing I DO like about wifi battling is that it scales everything to the same level, so you dont need to level everyone to 100, the game will auto-scale your team so both players are on equal footing.

Oh that's a neat feature. I haven't really battled anyone else's team since Red, and that was just me with 6 Mews being the biggest asshole in the state of VA.

Most of the MechWarrior games were bad ass. Even the top-down Sega Genesis game. It was especially sweet cause you could pilot a MadCat with two people: pilot and a gunner.

MW4 was not bad. I only enjoyed it for the better mouse controls and the online play. Just load up a fast mech with a pair of autocannons and a crap tonne of ammo. Chews up those laser-wielding turds real quick.
