To everyone wanting more sillyness/game types on FNF/TFT

The best way to do this is to either make maps with a new gameplay style in mind or to look for them on FPS banana in the other section.  It can be hard to come up with a new gameplay type and then teach it to everyone and expect them to follow the rules and once done it can be hard to find a good map to play it on.  It's quite difficult to make a great map in hammer, but a goofy map is much easier, you can do it orange and ask for help from the forums.  I will now start a list of things we can do outside the normal TF2 play.

-Hide and seek map posted in custom map suggestions
-Highlander mode (with plug-in)
-Best in class (dunno what this is)
-Surf Maps

There are also quite a lot of good looking sniper maps....but they are sniper maps.  Is there interest for this?  I think it would be fun but we would need to distribute our pro snipers equally between the teams.

No, absolutely not, inviting people is how you get new/more people in a community, if you don't like it, tough. Any community that doesn't get fresh blood over time is one that stagnates and dies. How about instead of asking "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU" to someone you don't recognize, take a few seconds to get to know them. Everyone was new at some point, have a little respect and patience. Password is not going to change anytime soon.

Also, less gimmick maps, you want stuff to not be fun anymore, then ask to play it all the time. You can run something fun into the ground for everyone very very fast. If you want something to remain fun you gotta spread it out. Why do you think a bunch of us absolutely hate RPS now, because people wanted to do it all the time, every FNF/TFT it was OMG LETS RPS, and some of us got real sick of it.

I think RPS on arena might work because you won't have those long ass stalemates and such, each round is only going to last for a few minutes at most. Just a word of warning, I think arena is set to last for 20 minutes on both servers, just don't overdo it, do one map cycle, then something else, just don't stack several rounds of it in a row.

There will be an executable highlander config for tonight. Limits will be two of Engineer, Medic, soldier, and scout, and one of everything else.

For about five minutes until people start to get pissed off and leave. I was stuck on a PVKII server that was using "acrobatic" maps only where you have to surf on inclines by side strafing and do all this other crazy shit, needless to say I didn't enjoy it.

Caff is right though. You can't really force the silly, you kind of have to sit back and see where people take things in game. That's the best way to come up with new ideas of what to do. Nobody should be afraid to suggest a new idea while in game if they think it might be something fun to do.

I'd actually like less silly stuff  I don't get to play as much as I used to, and I look forward to playing good games with good players on TNF/FNF.  I don't mind pick-up games or the occasional RPS, but I'd still like the bulk of the time to be "proper" matches on interesting maps.
