you don't have a proper rock band thread. let's rectify this.



rock band is a full band rhythm game from harmonix, the original creators of guitar hero. if you haven't seen it or played it already, you've probably never been to a party and have no friends. there are over 650 songs available on the platform between on disc songs, expansion packs, and downloadable content. it's on all current systems as well as the ps2, but if you're serious about this shit, you better get it on the 360 or ps3 because the dlc support is laughable on the wii and nonexistent on the ps2.

which is better: guitar hero or rock band?
it's all a matter of opinion and the track lists. personally i feel the layout and design of rock band makes it a thousand times more replayable than guitar hero. plus the music selection is so much wider. everything from jimmy buffett to devildriver. however, if you love seeing kfc ads all over the place, guitar hero world tour might be your game.

how often does the dlc catalog update
every tuesday morning. dlc is announced fridays at 10/9c am.

i have a guitar from another game, will it work in rock band?
maybe.
360: all guitars work in rb2
ps3: the gh3 les paul will not work. everything else does.
wii and ps2: only rock band guitars will work. sorry. thats what you get.

My Wii Hero 3 guitar works perfectly with Wii Band 2.

Also hellz yeah for AAF Smooth Criminal. I've got 200 points sitting on my account waiting for it to be released as Wii content (which gets updated later than 360 & PS3, fuckers ;-;.)

Rock Band is one of the few things that makes me remotely sociable, and I will in fact, rock the mic hardcore with my terrible singing.  I can also play all them guitaring things though since I got into Guitar Hero way back when it first came out (and probably sold enough people on the game that Harmonix owes me a free copy of Rock Band).  My feet don't get along with my hand though, so I can't play drums, unless I ever owned the game and spent a lot of time learning like I did with GH maybe.

I'm fairly good at drums, I'm no expert like Trace.  The one problem I have is my wrists are kinda messed up so after a bit they start hurting and I have to stop.  I'm not sure why they are like that, it's either the way I type or from that snowboarding accident I had.
