Nintendo working with Team Ninja? Looks pretty sick, boys.
[E3 2009-Nintendo] Metroid Other M [Annuncio] -ContraNetwork-

Plus, listen to the first line.
"Any objections, lady?"
Connection to Metroid Fusion. Possibly sequel. *squeel*

While I can't deny it looks great, I really just want another 2D one. I just don't like the 3D Metroids. Like I said, there undeniably great games, just not for me Sad

Actually, it looks like part of it will be 2D, but in 3D forms, and then sometimes it switches back to the Metroid Prime feel or something. So far, I'm hyped.

Who knows, maybe this'll convince me that Metroid the game and Metroid the drama are not entirely incompatible.  'Cause even in Corruption I still couldn't get past the disparity between the story it was trying to tell and the contrivances the game had to include "in world" to keep with Metroid's... ... uh... joie de vie, savoir faire or whatever the hell I'm talking about.

I think I agree with fail. Metroid is about atmosphere with subtle implications of story. Intensive backstory and cutscenes don't fit.

Actually Metroid is about IMO, a feeling of being alone and desolation, the prime series had a TON of backstory revealed mostly through scanning stuff

Agree whole heatedly with the first. But the second is one of the reasons why I don't like the Prime games. At least you could ignore it in 1, but 3 shoves it down your throat. I just feel backstory in Metroid should be implied and inferred. Never exact, and never fully explained.

This looks like most everything was quicktime events just they took the "WAGGLE UP AND DOWN" out to make it look more cinematic. I also hate these animeish human character models. And the voices. I guess I have to wait until I see cohesive gameplay that isn't just the cinematic snippets pasted together.

Good to know Nintendo hasn't completely given up on the hardcore croud. This looks very promising though. I like the combination of classic Metroid with Prime.

Also, did Samus speak??  :o

Yes. I'm curious to see what Team Ninja can do building a ground-up title without Itagaki and co.

Actually, I watched the trailer, and this is the ONLY thing Nintendo had to appeal to me, aside from galaxy 2.

I mean, what happened to all the promises we got last year?

I played both of those games where they belonged, on the pile that was NOT to be milked.

Pikmin 3 has been confirmed, it's just not coming out for a while.
