..yay.

Specs first

Dell 19" Widescreen LCD
AMD 64 X2 3.1 Dualcore
Nvidia 8800 GT
Motherboard (some random dell shit that I've never been able to find)
550W PSU

Aight, so earlier today it was working fine. I transported my computer to my house and I plug it all up. Everything works...except nothing comes on the monitor. The monitor even recognizes what it's attached to, but the monitor goes into an autopower save like the computer has been shut off. The fan on the video card is spinning..power comes on..monitor works. One thing I noticed however, is the keyboard and mouse do not come on with the computer (both USB based). My brother and I are completely stumped..we even tried to use the onboard graphics and nothing came on the screen. We've checked just about everything. If anyone thinks of anything let me know immediately.

Check your DVI cable to make sure none of the pins are bent? Maybe try another cable?

It wouldn't be this because I checked using a VGA to see if it was the video card. I think it has something to do with the motherboard, but there is nothing painfully obvious to fix. I can't figure it out.

This happened to me the other day.  I woke up, saw that the power went out over the night, and no picture on the monitor.  I know it's working because if i move my mouse and click enough i get logged in and hear the ever wonderful chime.

Thought it was my video card, saw some singe marks on it and a diode thingie fell off it.  So even if it wasn't broken, it is now.

Try resetting your BIOS maybe? Idk, this has happened to me before but I can't remember what I always did to fix it.

Problem was just figured out. Something happened with my Corsair RAM. Possibly a module failure was causing the system not to boot at all. HOPEFULLY, my RAM hasn't gone bad, but at least the problem has been identified. My brother and myself are working on it right now.

Edit: Posting from my computer now. Corsair is still ok. Never thought it'd be a problem with the RAM, but my brother figured it out.
