One recently opened up near my house. I've got to say, this is one heck of a game store. Lot's of great deals, much cheaper than most stores, mind you, fair trading prices, some really nice policies.
I might apply there if they're hiring. Anyone else been to one of these stores? |

oooh! i saw one of these while crossing through Canada to get to my Grandma's house. I was really tired, so decided to stop and take a break just to look around. It really is one hell of a store, although i dont think ill be driving to canada just to get any overpriced games at Gamestop (those bastards).

I dislike the hell out of these stores. They stole all the business from my favorite local used game store. Also, their employees LOVE to horde all the of the good trade-ins in the back of the store so they can "purchase" them later. Especially the rarer ones. Too many of them have opened up in the area as well, so most of their stock is NFL Quarterback Club 96 and the bad James Bond EA games.
Their prices on new games are decent. Hell, if all you want to do is buy new titles, Play'N'Trade is totally worth it. I remember walking into one of their stores for a copy of Donkey Konga. I walk up and ask the clerk if they had any copies. "Oh, some guy just came in and traded those games in a few hours ago. I bought them as soon as I put them in the system. I can't wait to get home to play them." "Oh, yeah there aren't any copies in stock, sorry."Â FUCK YOU CLERK. |

I traded in Gitaroo Man Lives for the PSP (Amazing fucking game but I now DO WHAT I WANT CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE, anyway. So the lady behind the counter literally opens her wallet, takes 15 dollars out, and pulls me to the back of the store and goes "Here's the price of your game and 5 bucks extra, I've been looking for this for months." Game stores are weird. (05-10-2009, 07:39 PM)Radio Raheem link Wrote:in the straightest way possible i have to say honest is by far the best looking person here |

We had a local store called Rhino Games that got bought by Gamestop. Rhino had an awesome return policy and treated their employees amazing. They got great deals and would always know and want to tell you about any game you were looking at. Gamestop treats their employees like ass. Soon all the people I liked talking to about games quit and were replaced with people that were pretty meh to down right rude. I don't blame them they suddenly had a shit job or were hired for one.

There's a Play'n'Trade that opened recently near me, but I haven't been there yet. The local Gamestop is closer and the people there are pretty cool.

Apparently I have a couple of these stores in the relative area, though not particularly close. Between CD Games Exchange (local chain) and all my online avenues, I really have no need to visit normal used game stores other than to raid their clearance bins (I shoulda bought Valkyria Chronicles when it was $30 even though I don't have a PS3 =X).

I work at one in Ohio, and we get all kinds of rare shit in, sure we can sell it all on eBay and make a shitton of money, but we'd rather keep our business. I mean, we sneak away games that are stupidly rare and are something I/the owner have been wanting, but we at least put them out as just a rental only rather than not making any money on it at all. A lot of them can be pretty weaselly though. We've been at our location for close to 15 years now, and we've seen pretty much all the mom and pop stores die. There's only 2 left within a 30 mile radius of where we are. |

They are very nice, and know just about where everything is. Maybe Michigan (Prepare for Crazy Rant) has a spacial warp around its borders that the government made because in case the car industry tanks (which it is) then the tourism will go up and up because they know about the happy warp that makes everything in Michigan look better. Geoff let's fight the government!! > Sticks and stones may break my bones (but -1s hurt forever ;_ |

The Gamestop that's barely over a mile away from me has great service, and guys who seem to know what they're talking about. So yeah.
