[/quote] I suggest you read up then: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Day A large portion of the D-Day forces were Canadian, British and Australian. Regarded as the second most heavily defended beach, Juno was successfully taken without aerial or navel support. |

D-Day for the tl;dr It was the only landing to successfully get their armor on the beach. D-Day didn't go quite as planned. American and British forces dropped in hours before the attack and were supposed to come in behind and link up with forces on the beach. However, heavy AA fire broke apart that plan and forces behind the beach were scattered. I think the only exception was Utah beach. Matters were made worse when a vet division occupied Omaha and forces on Omaha couldn't get their armor on the beach. So Omaha beach was basically hell and was the most fortified of the beaches...I'd go as far to say the bloodiest battle. Lets just say there were a lot of battlefield promotions that day. It didn't help the Germans spotted the American convoys headed for Utah and Omaha EARLY. Anyways, Juno got one of the worst divisions, but even still the 716th pretty much tore the first Canadian wave a new one. The Canadians and Combined Operations divisions got the job done at the end of the day though. Funny, they pretty much wiped out the 716th that day. Gold beach, was pretty bloody too. The only thing I know about Gold was the Brit link up with Juno. British forces at Sword got lucky and wiped a lot of forces to the ground with a lot of aerial bombardment. That's also the extent of my knowledge with Sword. *Based on my memory. Do the research yourself. |

My personal favorite is still MGS3 |

I haven't been doing any gaming recently due to a lack of time and a fucked up GPU. And it occurred to me that I don't really belong in a gaming community right now. So I'm checking out for a while. I might be back when I have the time and money to start gaming again. Until then, farewell.
