I've seen this one before. It was quite hilarious and shows why interpretation is a bullshit medium to grade a class on.

If you can't tell, I'm pissed at instructors who tell you to give an interpretation of something and then end up failing you because it wasn't close enough to what they wanted you to interpret. It happens in almost every one of my Literature classes (exception being one badass professor who some friends and I actually spent time with at a farewell party since he was moving to a different college).

The various mangas were actually pretty good, and even the show was decent back in the day during the first season because there was actually an adventure quality to it. (Charmander almost dying, everyone almost dying on the S.S. Anne, and the crazy ass Sabrina trying to kill them comes to mind) Granted the further on it went the more kiddied down it became, but if you want some nostalgia value that is somewhat age appropriate, go check out Pokemon Adventures, it's a manga focused on the games themselves and has a slightly more mature theme (an arbok gets chopped in half iirc, made me lawls)
