Too bad DOM was how everything in TF used to be scored, I don't see a problem

You could try it for awhile Caff...but I don't think the DOM maps will bring in new people much.

They can both be votable tho I guess. IR sad I didnt get to play canalzone ;-;

Actually I think the scoring is retarded in comparison, any linear CP map like for example lets say well, if one team hold the center point for the whole time but cant quite break the defense of the 4th point, why is it a stalemate. In the old method of scoring each point you held would get you +1 every minute or so depending on the map, if you capped everything you got like a 50 point bonus. Thus if you held more points longer and time ran out, there was no stalemate, you won.

It also made A/D CP maps possible, like Avanti, where one team caps a series of points like Labor/Granary/Badlands, then when they cap all of them it switches attackers and defenders. With the way TF2 scores things, you can't properly keep track, defenders get nothing for holding.

That being said I'm probably going to take canal zone off rotation and put the two DOM maps on voting, since different play styles seem to put people's knickers in a twist  :'(

Different can be good. Personally, I strive linearity in games be it strong narrative in single-player games or objective driven game play in multi-player. I understand the objective of hold as many points as possible at all times but when I played Canalzone that quickly deteriorated in running around like headless chickens from point to point.

I would agree to an extent as far as the scoring goes but I love the possibility of a stalemate on CP (as originally implemented, none of this mêlée only bollocks or any other gimmick).

I think old school people appreciate DOM and new people can't as much.  Also you need much more coordination and a full server.  So yea I'd support moving it to RTV, that way when us bad-asses get together we can play it.

I love dom, just because there are so many options. It can be a bit of a clusterfuck when people can come at you from all sides, but it's a lot of fun.
