I have bought a DS

I only have Pokemon Pearl.

FUCK
everything in this game is screwy, I mean, beauty contests are retarded and pretty much luck based,
I have no idea what each pokemon is past the original 151~ so I have no idea what half of these do or how to beat them
And I have no idea how to do the Wi-FI things
I have a Silver DS lite.
Do I need to buy an adapter for Wi-Fi, or can I just connect to my wireless at my house?

you can connect to wireless at your house, however with most games you're limited to only being able to connect to a router that's unsecured or has WEP

Wireless is built into the DS, you can connect to most routers easily but newer N types might require that you do some configuration on the router.

Also, I played the beauty contest thing once just to do it.  The whole, "you'll impress this judge if you go first and you do this move and the following opponent is a lv 13 bird type (HAS TO BE 13) and you have Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom in the GBA slot" stuff was kinda confusing.

Heh <3, but yeah, Pokemon Contests and Poffin are worthless (unless your trying to get a Milotic, but that's to long a process even for me,0 and you get nothing out of beating them apart from a ribbon, so don't waste your time. There should be a page in the manual that explains FCs, but if not, you need the pal pad item and then use the view code function on it.

As for any Pokemon you don't know, general advice, or what have you, just PM/Steam Message me and I'll gladly give you any tips or info

Also the Ace Attorney series are the greatest games ever made

Also, I only need to beat the master of cool beauty contest..not sure what that'll get me, but at first I thought that I had to get master to beat the gym leader in that city, turns out she's just gone or something. :/

ok so nitrous just spent like 30 minutes telling me what moves/pokemon i should use out of the like 30 i've caught
my team is empoleon, staravia, haunter, sudowoodo, ponyta, gyrados.
it works fine except for the fact empoleon's at 42, and the rest are at like 24-26

That seems to happen a lot, your starter is waaaay more powerful than any other pokemon you get, and training the other pokemon is a hassle.

Anyways, I just bought Elite Beat Agents. It is fuckwintastic.
Also contests are not random at all, and are quite fun. They require at the very least as much strategy as battles, because you're vying with 3 other enemies instead of 1.
