Also you can eat with or without the soy sauce, doesn't really matter.
I think sashimi/sushi tastes better when dipped a bit in soy sauce

Hey. Here's a piece of subversive advice.

If you're going to a place with friends and they have sukiyaki, take it instead. It's the best fucking thing you could ever eat. :V

Of course, if you're dead set on sushi, you're dead set. Sukiyaki is usually harder to come by though.

Turns out I think it's a buffet... so... I'll make a list of some suggestions, and otherwise just get a bunch of random stuff. Maybe I'll take pictures. Because sushi is colorful and looks cool.

Only sushi buffet I ever went to blew chunks. The sushi was fresh but they were super cheap with the ingredients. They were pretty much just rice, like nothing good inside.

Yeah, we're going during lunch (That and it's cheaper then). But it is voted one of the best sushi grills in Dallas, and we have quite a few so I'll take that as a safe sign.

Oh, and if I get food poisoning I'll take a picture of the results of that too.

I fukken LUUUV yellowtail. Especially the negihama maki, in which the yellowtail is chopped with scallions so the scallion flavor juices get mixed with the fish and it is just too damn delicious.

Avoid cheap places, sushi is going to be goddamned expensive, and if its not, you'll be paying for it in other ways

Veggie rolls are gay. Don't get them.
Also: Sushi rice is basically white rice mixed with a special rice/seaweed/other vinegar, and mixed and left to cool slightly. The outcome should be a rice that has a very slightly sour taste, and of course, should be sticky.
