That was fun, had to restart the server about 5 times because of that lava flood. Ended up reverting to a half-hour ago thanks to a conveniently timed backup

I think just to be on the safe side of everything Backfire should go into map editor and have the lava areas be surrounded by red and/or orange blocks and have water surrounded by blue blocks so we don't keep on fucking everything up.

Well, I'm planning on making an entirely new map. I'm thinking of making a 512x512x512 (current map is only 256x256x512) map that's one half flatlands (or hills and stuff like the current map) and one half ocean with a very deep bottom. Yes, it will result in the deletion of everyone's buildings and stuff, but this'll give us an entirely new map (void of lava whatsoever) four times the size of the current one. I'll upload and post a link to the current map for anyone who wants to keep working on it in their spare time or something.

So yeah.. as it turns out, Minecraft has this sort of built in limit to how big maps can be. Still trying to find this, but I'm pretty certain the map can't be 512^3. Guess 134 million blocks would be a lil hard to calculate or something... I'll report back when I find out the limits of map size.

Nope. But that's the point.


Also, just put a lot of trees around the map (they look like shrubs but they will grow). Those lands covered by trees aren't held by anyone (at least on top) and you may build freely on them.
