Can't you just break off and make your own faction?

I am having trouble hitting people with my polearm while riding a horse. Oddly enough, it seems to be more effective using a sword while riding a horse opposed to using a lance or a spear.
Any advice? I try going head on since you only seem to be able to thrust on a horse but if I miss I end up running into said enemy and my horse stops, leaving me open for attacks |

Using polearms in tournaments is devastating, using them in battles is tricky. I've worked at a system so here is my pointers. IMO polearms are useless un-couched, so have a close quarters weapon to switch to. In the beginning of the battle when you are riding towards the enemy have the polearm equipped and when you reach a certain speed it will automatically couch. Aim for the people on the left side since it couches right and only pick off people along the edges, DO NOT RIDE INTO THE CENTER. That is like instant death. To hit someone try and get them with the tip of your polearm, this sounds like a no-brainer but if you are paying attention to where it is you pretty much have to almost run over them. I've had some success with looking left which sometimes points the polearm out more. As soon as they start getting mixed up in your troops or get somewhere you can't pick up speed switch to a sword or an axe. You can attack them on horseback by swinging while riding but you will probably get your horse hung up this way. Most effective for me is getting off the horse and attack from the rear and just cut people down like crazy while my troops attack from the front. I've had like 20 kills per battle fighting like this. When enemy reinforcements come in you just find your horse and repeat. |

Man up and fight like dave.
Shield, bastard sword, throwing axes, some two handed club for slaves. i only use a horse for the party speed boost, if you stay in formation with your infantry nothing can break through a line of huskarls. |

it does the most damage in the game and its not hard to do, you dont click, instead once you have enough speed the lance will fall into place, then ride slightly left of the target making sure the tip of the lance is going to hit your target, if you hit its an instant kill.

Unless it hits their shield and then goodbye shield. I fight in a way that's the best of cavalry and your way. I am a killing machine with my two handed axe, you just don't know. Also I don't use any gear but the ones I find. I've started a pretty cool strategy for troops too: I recruit yokels from the villages then train them up till they are maxed out and garrison some of them. So my town's defenses are going to be hardcore and I'm saving a lot on my army costs. Plus if I ever get in an important war I can go form a ridiculous army pretty quick. |

So in order to take a town do I just have to be a dick and just "siege" it or is there a more "honorable" way of doing it without coming off as some sort of prick who just wants a town for his own?

You have to seige it, then you have to either starve them out or build seige towers. Then when you take it you have to ask your king for it. If he says no he will offer you money (not much) or you can tell him to go eff himself and take it anyway but then hostilities start. |

Lances are lame compared to a decent slashing weapon. With a lance you have to build up speed to do decent damage, but an axe or a scythe can usually kill anyone in one hit and be ready for another attack immediately. |

[/quote] in native expansion they countered this witht he ability to brace spears against that ground, so unless they have a lance you take them out before they get close enough but yeah in native as long as they arent using something longer than you, you can get faster kills with a blade. |

So apparently there is no such thing as loyalty in Mount and blade. I have the whole Rhadook force at my castle walls and my allies aren't even close to coming to my aid

So we've stopped talking about this game?
I've taken over all of the Rhodook territories yet they still exist. Do I have to capture all the lords in order to eliminate them from the game? |
